Over 33,000 bulletproof vests, 19,000 helmets sent to Army over week - deputy minister

The Defence Ministry delivered more than 33,000 bulletproof vests, 19,000 helmets, 13,500 pairs of shoes, and over 22,000 sets of uniform to the Armed Forces of Ukraine within a week.

That’s according to Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar, who held a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.

"From June 8 to June 15, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry sent more than 33,000 bulletproof vests, more than 19,000 helmets, more than 13,500 pairs of shoes, and more than 22,000 sets of field uniforms, to the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Maliar said, mentioning that additional 21,000 bullet-proof vests and 5,000 helmets already shipped by suppliers were on their way to the Army.

She also recalled that winter uniform was already being supplied.

"In total, the Defence Ministry delivered more than 55,000 bulletproof vests and more than 27,000 helmets to the Armed Forces in the first half of June," summed up the Deputy Defense Minister.

The official also said that the ministry worked in such a manner as to guarantee stable, rhythmic deliveries and to gradually increase their volume.

According to Ukrinform, the Armed Forces receive bulletproof vests, uniforms, and helmets mainly from the Defense Ministry with a slight proportion of assistance provided by volunteers and international partners.
