War update: Ukraine Army repulses enemy assault, disrupts Russian attempt to capture two villages

Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled enemy assaults in the area of ​​Kodema and Bilohorivka toward Bakhmut, as well as enemy attempts to capture the villages of Spirne and Vershyna. The invaders suffered significant losses, being forced to withdraw.

This is stated in the operational update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on July 15, Ukrinform reports.

No significant changes in the situation was observed in Volyn and Polissia directions as regards the Belarus forces’ activity.

In the Siversky direction, the enemy continues to enforce the relevant section of the Russian-Ukrainian border. In order to demonstrate their continued presence, the enemy periodically opens fire at the positions of Ukrainian troops in the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is focused on trying to hold the gained ground and prevent Ukrainian troops from advancing towards the state border. Enemy tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery were active in the areas of Petrivka, Ridne, Sosnivka, Slatyne, Pryshyb, Ruski Tyshki, Pytomnyk, Verkhniy Saltiv, and others. A Russian Orlan-10 UAV drone was spotted on an air reconnaissance missions near Primorske.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy is trying to improve their tactical position and undertake offensive action toward Sloviansk. The areas of Dibrovne, Podolivka, Mazanivka, Adamivka, Chepilya, Krasnopillya, Kurulka, and others were shelled with artillery.

In the Donetsk direction, the enemy continues to fire on Ukrainian defense units with artillery and tanks along the contact line, also conducting reconnaissance, trying to find weak spots in Ukraine’s defense lines. The Russians focused their main efforts on the Bakhmut and Novopavliv directions, triying to advance in the direction of Soledar and Bakhmut.

In the direction of Kramatorsk, the enemy is regrouping in order to resume the offensive toward Siversk. The Kramatorsk, Zakitny, Hryhorivka, and other districts were shelled with barrel and jet artillery. Airstrikes were reported near Verkhniokamiansk.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russians shelled Ukrainian positions in the areas of Novoluhanske, Pokrovske, Vesela Dolyna, Berestove, Vesele, Maiorsk, and Vershyna. Airstrikes were reported near Semihir, Berestove, and the territory of the Vuhlehirska TPP.

Ukrainian troops have successfully repulsed enemy assault attempts in the area of ​​Kodema and Bilohorivka, as well as attempts to capture the villages of Spirne and Vershyna. The occupiers suffered significant losses and withdrew.

The enemy employed a UAV near Bakhmutske. Also, the enemy is trying to strengthen the air defense system of its rear bases and units.

In the Kurakhiv, Novopavliv, and Zaporizhia areas, the invaders ran no active missions, continuing to shell Ukraine’s positions along the contact line. They carried out airstrikes near Kamianka. Ukraine’s defenders quickly suppressed an attempted enemy offensive near Vodiane, engaging the Russians with precise fire. The enemy launched missile and air strikes on civilian infrastructure in the Vuhledar area.

The occupiers systematically bombarded civilian and military infrastructure in the South Buh direction, launching a missile attack on Mykolaiv and airstrikes in the areas of Velyke Artakove and Olhine.

The enemy UAVs flew on aerial reconnaissance missions, while ground forces continued to fortify positions. A significant threat of missile strikes on critical infrastructure across the region remains in place.

The Russian occupiers, in order to somehow justify the destruction of civilian targets on the territory of Ukraine, keep openly lying about the Ukrainian forces allegedly setting up military bases in kindergartens, hospitals, and churches.
