Ukrainian troops repel Russian attacks near six settlements in Donbas
Ukraine’s Defense Forces have successfully repelled the attacks of Russian invasion troops in the areas of Mayorsk, Mykolaivka Druha, Bakhmut, Krasnohorvka, and Novomykhailivka.
That’s according to the latest war update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
Throughout the day, Ukraine’s Air Force delivered seven strikes – on five strongholds and manpower and equipment clusters, as well as on two anti-aircraft defense systems.
Ukraine’s missile and artillery units engaged command and control points of various levels and areas where the enemy's manpower was concentrated. Russian anti-aircraft defense systems, electronic warfare and artillery units, ammunition and fuel depots were affected.
Mine clearance is ongoing in the liberated territories. Mass crimes committed by the enemy on Ukrainian soil, violations of international humanitarian law and the rules of warfare are being recorded. Representatives of military administrations, together with the Defense Forces, are doing everything possible to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe as a result of constant shelling, missile and air strikes by Russian troops, as well as blackouts, food and medicine shortages in the newly-liberated areas. Efforts to ensure civilian evacuation are underway.
The enemy continues to focus on establishing control over the territory of Donetsk region, maintaining the temporarily captured ground and disrupting the offensive of Ukrainian troops in certain directions.
The Russians are conducting aerial reconnaissance and firing on the Ukrainian positions, tries to take measures to restore lost ground by maneuvering their troops. The threat of air and missile strikes remains in place throughout the territory of Ukraine.
Russian occupiers pursue their tactics of terror and intimidation of the civilian population of Ukraine. Unable to deliver on the battlefield, the enemy s once again hit critical infrastructure facilities of peaceful cities. Energy, water mains, factories, and residential buildings were hit by missiles and rockets in Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Kostyantynivka, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk. The infrastructure in the areas of Pervomayiske, Bilohorivka, Zaitseve, Vesela Dolyna, Sukhyi Stavok, Shyroke, Partyzanske, and Lyubomyrivka was also damaged.
Throughout the day, the enemy launched five missile strikes, more than 10 air strikes, and over 20 attacks employing MLR systems, targeting military and civilian objects across the territory of Ukraine.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissya directions has not changed significantly.
In other directions, the enemy fired at military and civilian infrastructure, employing tanks, armored combat vehicles, as well as barrel and jet artillery, targeting:
the districts of Kostyantynivka and Udy in the Kharkiv direction;
the areas of Stariy Karavan, Sloviansk, Tetyanivka, Piskunivka, Raihorodok, and Kryva Luka in the Kramatorsk direction;

the areas of Novoandriivka, Novopil, Poltavka, Hulyaipole, Vremivka, Malynivka, Zelenyi Hay, Mali Shcherbaky, and Vilne Pole in Zaporizhia region.
Also, in the South Buh direction, the occupiers fired barrel and jet artillery along the entire line of contact, and carried out aerial reconnaissance employing UAVs, which made 56 sorties.
Russia’s military command deployment of newly-formed units. The current situation in the operational theater and distrust of the higher command among military servicemen forced a large number of volunteers to refuse from being involved in combat action. The situation is affected by the latest reports on the actual number of casualties, while losses incurred by private military companies and units comprised of those mobilized in temporarily occupied territories are not even taken into account. The situation is getting worse for the Russian forces due to the general attitude toward their own wounded. In particular, in Russian hospitals, the reports on the nature of combat injuries are deliberately simplified, while no time is provided to WIAs for rehabilitation, only in order to quickly bring the servicemen back to the combat zone.
