War update: Ukraine’s air defense destroys 30 enemy targets, including four helicopters
The enemy is trying to conduct offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled attacks near five settlements. Also, air defense forces destroyed 30 enemy targets, including four helicopters.
This is stated in a war update released on Facebook by Ukraine’s General Staff, Ukrinform reports.
"The enemy is trying to hold the temporarily captured territories, concentrating its efforts on trying to disrupt the counteroffensive of Ukraine’s Armed Forces in certain directions, and at the same time trying to run offensive missions in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions," the update states.
At the same time, it is noted that the enemy is shelling the positions of our troops along the contact line, carrying out engineering equipment of positions and defense lines in certain directions, and conducting aerial reconnaissance.
"Violating the norms of International humanitarian law, the laws and customs of war, they strike critical infrastructure and civilian homes. Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers have launched three missile and 21 air strikes, as well as 104 MLRS salvos," the General Staff of the Armed Forces emphasized.
Thus, infrastructure objects and civilian neighborhoods in more than 40 settlements were hit by the enemy forces, including in the areas of Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Chernyakhiv, Bilohorivka, Spirne, Pavlivka, Myrnyi, and Davydiv Brid.
To this end, the enemy used cruise, air-to-surface, and anti-aircraft guided missiles and Iranian-made on-way attack drones.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions has not changed significantly.
The enemy opened fire in multiple directions:
- in the Siverskyi direction - Russian mortars and barrel artillery engaged the areas of Myropillya, Seredyna-Buda, Stukalyvka, and Pavlivka;
- in the Slobozhansky direction – enemy artillery of various types was active in the areas of Buhruvatka, Hryanikyvka, Dvorichna, Nova Vovcha, Strilecha, Udy, and Chervona Zorya;

- in the South Buh direction, more than 20 settlements along the contact line suffered fire damage.
"During the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Bakhmutske, Ozaryanivka, Ivanhrad, Bakhmut, and Maryinka," the update added.
It is also reported that in some hostility zones, in particular in Donetsk region, enemy units are receiving orders from their superior commanders to suspend offensive operations. The main reason is the extremely low morale and psychological condition of the recruits, numerous facts of desertion from among the recently called-up troops, and defiance of orders.
According to information available at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the area of the city of Tokmak, Zaporizhia region, Ukrainian units hit three enemy S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems along with crew. The injured forces were evacuated to a local hospital. In Kherson region, as a result of point fire damage inflicted in the Tokarivka area, enemy losses amounted to 150 KIAs.
"It is also known that every day, the maintenance base in the area of Kalanchak accepts for repair up to 30 damaged armored vehicles," the statement adds.
At the same time, the General Staff noted that the Air Force carried out 32 strikes over the past 24 hours. More than 25 weapons and military equipment clusters, as well as seven anti-aircraft missile systems, have been hit. In addition, Ukraine’s air defense units shot down four enemy helicopters and 26 unmanned aerial vehicles.
