Ukraine Army repels enemy attacks near 11 settlements

Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repelled enemy attacks near 11 settlements.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook as of 06:00 a.m., October 31, 2022, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Russian troops are trying to hold the temporarily occupied areas, focusing efforts on restraining the actions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in certain directions. At the same time, they continue attempts to conduct offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

During the day, Ukrainian forces repelled enemy attacks near such settlements as Zelene in the Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka, Mykolaivka and Novoselivske in the Luhansk region; Avdiivka, Bakhmutske, Vesele, Vodiane, Maiorsk, Marinka and Novobakhmutivka in the Donetsk region.

Russian invaders continue to open fire on Ukrainian positions along the contact line, build fortification structure within the frontiers in certain directions, and conduct air reconnaissance. The enemy strikes critical infrastructure and civilian houses, violating international humanitarian law, and the laws and customs of war.

Over the past day, Russian troops have launched four missile strikes and five air strikes, and opened fire with MLRS over 90 times.

Over 20 settlements came under enemy fire, including the Kharkiv region’s Kupiansk, the Donetsk region’s Siversk, the Kherson region’s Nova Kamianka, the Mykolaiv region’s Bereznehuvate and Ochakiv.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation remained rather unchanged. Belarus is providing support for the Russian armed aggression against Ukrainians. Russia continues to redeploy individual units to the territory of Belarus. The threat of missile strikes and UAV attacks from the territory of Belarus is persisting.

In other directions, Russian troops opened fire as follows:

in the Siverskyi direction – near such settlements as the Chernihiv region’s Halahanivka and the Sumy region’s Pokrovka, with mortars and cannon artillery;

in the Slobozhanskyi direction – near the Kharkiv region’s Hatishche, Kamianka, Krasne, Ohirtseve and Starytsia, with tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery;

in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions – near the Kharkiv region’s Tabaivka and Terny, the Luhansk region’s Hrekivka, Kovalivka, Karmazynivka, Makiivka, Novoyehorivka, Nevske, Ploshchanka and Chervonopopivka, and the Donetsk region’s Zarichne and Yampolivka, with different artillery systems;

in the Bakhmut direction – near the Donetsk region’s Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Maiorsk, Opytne, Siversk, Soledar, Spirne and Yakovlivka, with tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery;

in the Avdiivka region – near the Donetsk region’s Avdiivka, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka and Pervomaiske, with tanks and various artillery systems;

in the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions – near the Donetsk region’s Vremivka, Vuhledar, Mykilske, Pavlivka, Paraskoviivka and Prechystivka, and the Zaporizhzhia region’s Dorozhnianka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Olhivske and Pavlivka, with tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery.

In the Southern Bug direction, about 20 settlements came under enemy fire along the contact line, including the Kherson region’s Bilohirka, Davydiv Brid, Myrne, Nova Kamianka, Pravdyne and Chervone, and the Mykolaiv region’s Kyselivka and Ternovi Pody.

In the temporarily occupied areas of the Kherson region, Russian occupiers continue to dismantle and take the equipment of cell towers to the Donetsk region in order to establish and expand the coverage of the so-called national communication operators.

Preparations for the evacuation of Russian individual units and military equipment from the right-bank part of the Kherson region continue. For this purpose, the availability of watercraft of the river fleet is verified, pontoon crossings are installed, and the serviceability and readiness of barges are checked occasionally. Recently, two of them have been successfully destroyed by Ukrainian forces near the Antonivka Bridge.

According to the updated information, enemy personnel and military equipment were hit in previous days. In particular, a convoy of Russian military equipment was destroyed in the Kherson region; one ammunition depot, five ammunition and military equipment units were destroyed and up to 120 enemy troops wounded in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Over the past day, Ukrainian air forces have launched 21 strikes on enemy positions, including 15 on ammunition and military equipment clusters, two on platoon strong points, and four on air defense missile system positions. The Ukrainian military shot down one Russian helicopter and one Su-25 aircraft in different directions.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s missile and artillery units struck one Russian command post and one air defense missile system.
