Wagner’s forces near Bakhmut to be depleted in two months if they don't change tactics - army spox

If there are no changes in Wagner Group’s war tactics around Bakhmut in Donetsk region, their forces will be exhausted within two months.

Such an opinion was expressed by the spokesman for the Eastern Group of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Serhii Cherevatyi, who spoke on the air of the national telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"With such intensity as they (the Wagner Group - ed.) are being annihilated today, if they fail to change their war tactics, I think we’re talking two months. This is my subjective outlook. Again, that’s if they don’t re-establish their manpower supply sources," Cherevatyi said.

According to the spokesperson, firefights are underway in and around Bakhmut, where the situation remains “very difficult” since capturing the town is one of the priority goals for the Russian leadership at the moment.

"However, our command clearly sees their plans, we know how to respond to them. Our intelligence and aerial surveillance are working, too," the official assured the public.

He added that the most aggressive enemy units have been amassed in the area.

"Many months of our defense show that we are exhausting the enemy, we are knocking their fighting spirit out. We are depleting their forces while our Ukrainian reserves are being prepared," Cherevatyi said.

As reported earlier with reference to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders are trying to take full control of the town of Bakhmut, where fierce battles continue.
