Eight injured as Russian forces shell Kherson region 96 times in past day

Russian troops attacked the Kherson region 96 times in the past 24 hours, firing 447 shells and injuring eight people.

Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, said this in a post on the Telegram messaging app, according to Ukrinform.

"In the past day, the enemy carried out 96 shelling attacks, firing 447 shells from heavy artillery, UAVs and aircraft. The enemy shelled the city of Kherson nine times," Prokudin said.

The Russian military hit the residential areas of settlements in the region and the river port in Kherson.

Eight people were injured in the strikes, Prokudin added.

According to him, 47 more people were evacuated in the past day from parts of the region liberated from the Russians.
