In Melitopol, enemy accomplice dies in bomb blast

In the morning, an explosion occurred in Melitopol, as a result of which one of the leaders of the occupation police was injured.

Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov reported the news on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform learned.

"At approximately 4:00 in the morning, flurries of gunshots were heard in the city, and already at 5:20, on Heroiv Ukrainy Street, a single explosion rang out at No. 67. It was quite powerful. We are aware that (it targeted – ed.) a collaborator who had been working with local law enforcement," he said.

Fedorov added that the occupation authorities had already reported that a person had been injured in the incident.

"For now, we will not name the position and name. The data is still being verified," mayor said.

However, Fedorov hinted that this was one of the chiefs of a “law enforcement agency” unit run by the invaders.

In turn, the spokesman for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, posted on Telegram a screenshot of a message confirming Oleksandr Mishchenko’s death.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in the direction of Zaporizhia, the enemy is erecting fortifications, installing anti-tank barriers, and mining the territories in anticipation of a Ukrainian counteroffensive.
