Number of casualties as result of missile strike in Odesa increased to three

As a result of the missile strike on Odesa on May 17th, three people were injured and one man died.

Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the Joint Press Center of the South Operational Command, reported this during a briefing at the Media Center Odesa.

"One person died, two were injured, and it was later discovered that another person sought medical assistance," said Humeniuk.

She noted that all 8 missiles were intercepted by the air defense forces, but as a result of the debris falling, two missiles damaged an industrial enterprise in Odesa.

"Indeed, during the operation of the air defense system, there can be situations where already intercepted missiles can fall to the ground and cause damage. The peculiarity of our region is that missiles are often intercepted over the sea, and we have not recorded any impact with debris. However, debris often causes fires and is a cause of destruction," said Humeniuk.
