Situation remains quite difficult, enemy uses guided munitions – Humeniuk
The situation remains complicated because the Russian forces continue to use guided aerial bombs.
Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces Natalia Humeniuk said this during the nationwide United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.
"The situation remains quite difficult... Since the enemy, unsuccessfully looking for the direction from which to expect the maximum impact, is attempting to fire at all populated areas along the front line," she noted.
In addition, Humeniuk said that the Russian army continues to use guided aerial bombs, including in the Beryslav direction. At the same time, according to her, the intensity of shelling in general decreased due to the effective destruction Russian ammunition depots by Ukrainian forces last week.
"Due to the destruction of five such ammunition depots along the left bank, the number of attacks actually decreased to 70 over the past day, while earlier it was at 90+," Humeniuk added.
She also informed that over the past day, the Defense Forces in Southern Ukraine eliminated 37 occupiers, one Buk air defense system, an EW station, two boats and two large-caliber guns that the enemy used to fire at Kherson.
As Ukrinform reported, from February 24, 2022 to July 9, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 234,040 Russian invaders, including 600 occupiers in the past day.
