Tavria direction: Defense Forces retain initiative, enemy suffers new losses
In the Tavria direction, 68 occupants were killed, 156 were wounded, and four people were taken prisoner over the day.
Valeriy Shershen, a spokesman for the Joint Press Center of the Tauride Defense Forces, said this on the air of the United News telethon, according to Ukrinform.
"Artillery units of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction carried out almost 1,400 firing missions over the last day. Over the last day, the enemy's losses amounted to 68 occupants killed in action, 156 wounded and four people taken prisoner," the spokesman said. Moreover, 22 units of Russian weapons and military equipment were destroyed.
The Russian invaders are suffering enormous losses and the initiative is on our side, added Shershen. He also said that in the Tavria direction, the Russians attacked our positions 19 times and fired 585 times.
In the process of conducting combat operations, the missile forces of the Tavria Defense Forces launched 10 missile strikes, Shershen said. According to the spokesperson, the targets were the areas where personnel were concentrated. In particular, these are "enemy firing positions. Objects to be hit are determined at the headquarters where the command coordinates. The Armed Forces of Ukraine is an intelligent army, so the targets of attack are clearly defined," the spokesman said.
At the same time, Shershen noted that the enemy has a significant advantage in manpower. In addition, "all the hardware they have from the Soviet period is also being pulled up. They have enough of this hardware. But they already lack moral and psychological attitude, they are demotivated," emphasized Shershen.
As reported, yesterday 19 Russian servicemen surrendered in the Tavria direction.
