The situation in Luhansk region remains difficult after the Russians forces assaulted the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces 17 times, engaging them over 150 times in the past day.
That’s according to Artem Lysohor, the chief of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, who delivered the update via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"As of the morning of July 22, over the past 24 hours, the enemy fired 155 times at the positions of our military and front-line settlements in Luhansk region. The Russians also tried 17 times to go on assaults and make advances," he said.
According to Lysohor, the invaders deploy a “very large number” of artillery reserves and assault groups. However, the Ukrainian military has repelled all attacks and inflicted significant damage on the enemy forces.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian forces decided to liquidate nine more coal mines in the temporarily captured territories of Luhansk region.
