Russian troops unable to penetrate Ukraine’s defense lines - Estonian intelligence
In the near future, the Russian armed forces will not be able to make a decisive breakthrough in the Ukrainian defense so they are trying to exhaust Ukraine’s economy and population by missile and drone strikes.
That’s according to Estonia’s Colonel Mart Vendla, who spoke with ERR, Ukrinform reports.
"Over the past days, Russia’s armed forces attacked, mainly on the Kupiansk - Svatove - Kreminna axis, in the Bakhmut area, and on the Donetsk - Avdiivka range, achieving just minimal success. Obviously, in the near future, the Russian troops will not be able to make a decisive breakthrough in the Ukrainian defense, therefore, with the help of missiles and attack drones, they are trying to exhaust the economy and population of Ukraine," Vendla said today at the weekly press conference of the Ministry of Defense.
He added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine sealed limited success in the east of Ukraine near Bakhmut and in the south in the area of Orikhiv and Velyka Novosilka.
"At the same time, there is still no reliable confirmation of the breakthrough of Russia’s first line of defense. Ukraine continues to strike Russia’s important logistical facilities in order to complicate the supply to front-line units," the intelligence officer added.
As Ukrinform reported, from February 24, 2022 to August 4, 2023, Ukraine’s Defense Forces eliminated 248,490 Russian invaders.
