Russia attacks Ukraine with Tu-22 aircraft from Shaykovka, Mozdok airfields - Ignat
At night on August 15, the Russian army used air and sea-based cruise missiles.
Yuriy Ignat, a spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on the air of the 'United News' telethon, according to Ukrinform.
"The Kh-22 missiles, which they have in service, were sent directly to the Donetsk region, to the city of Kramatorsk. Next, launches from the Caspian Sea - strategic aircraft Tu-95 struck with Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles. 20 missiles were launched from strategic aviation, flying all over the territory of our country," he said.
Ignat added that the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with Tu-22 aircraft from Shaykovka and Mozdok airfields.
According to him, the air defense was operating in the areas where the missiles were flying.
He noted that launches of S-300 or S-400 missiles in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro regions were also recorded. Thus, the enemy continues to launch anti-aircraft-guided missiles on a ballistic trajectory.
"Actually, if we add the Kalibr from the Black Sea, we managed to destroy 16 of the 24 cruise missiles that we can shoot down with conventional means. Unfortunately, we failed to destroy missiles from Tu-22 Kh-22 aircraft. These are missiles that attack by ballistic trajectory," Ignat added.
As reported, on Tuesday, August 15, in the morning, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 16 enemy cruise missiles in the Ukrainian sky.
