Ukraine obtains 100 Gb of classified data leaked from Russia’s drone producer
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry says it has got hold of 100 gigabytes of classified data from the Russian-based Special Technology Center (STC).
The market value of the leaked batch is tentatively estimated at $1.5 billion, the agency reports, according to Ukrinform.
"This Russian company has been under sanctions since 2016. Its facilities produce military equipment and equipment used by the Russian army in the war against Ukraine," the statement reads.
In particular, STC produces Orlan reconnaissance UAVs of various modifications, a number of electronic warfare and reconnaissance systems, and other military products.
The array of data obtained by the Ministry of Defense of the Ministry of Defense contains documentation for 194 nomenclature units: drawings, specifications, patents, software, etc., which it refers to both existing and prospective defense projects.
"This is a significant blow to terrorist Moscow: the said archive is already being used for the purpose of strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and weakening the aggressor state," GUR said.
Classified information from one of the critically important enterprises for Russia’s defense industry was obtained through contacts with patriotic representatives of civil society and media community.
"Everyone can join the resistance," GUR emphasizes.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine’s defense intelligence is verifying reports of North Korea supplying ballistic missiles to Russia for use in attacks on Ukrainian cities.
