Ukraine downs 17 of 18 Russian Shahed drones launched overnight

Ukraine’s air defense forces intercepted 17 out of 18 enemy kamikaze drones Russian invaders launched at Ukraine overnight Thursday.

In the early hours of Thursday, June 6, 2024, Russia attacked Dnipropetrovsk region with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from Taganrog region (Russia), and also with 18 Shahed-type UAVs launched from Primorsk-Akhtarsk region (Russia) and Cape Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea).

That’s according to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.

"Seventeen one-way attack UAVs were shot down over Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions," the statement reads.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, an air raid alert was declared in a number of regions of Ukraine due to the threat of Russian drone attacks.
