CinC Syrskyi chairs meeting of working group on uncrewed systems
That’s according to the top commander’s report on Facebook, seen by Ukrinform.
Syrskyi said one of his strategic tasks is the transformation of the Ukrainian Army into a high-tech force. According to the commandeer, this will allow to not only have an edge over the adversary but also, most importantly, to save the lives of Ukraine’s defenders.
He noted several field commanders with unique combat experience in the use, supply, and adaptation of uncrewed systems. In Syrskyi’s opinion, it is critical to have a common understanding of the further development of these capabilities and be aware of the challenges facing Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Syrskyi recalled the "impressive performance of unmanned systems and the teams operating them, in particular in the tense Kharkiv axis", as well as the fact that Ukrainian naval drones pushed the enemy out of the Ukrainian waters of the Black Sea.
"We plan to continue to improve logistics, supply chains, production capacities, communication, personnel training, recruitment of capable crews for unmanned platforms, research and testing, as well as the elimination of bureaucratic barriers, in particular, when it comes to writing off drones lost on the battlefield," said the commander-in-chief.
He emphasized that the Unmanned Systems Forces must constantly improve in the face of new challenges and realities.
"I plan to regularly hold such meetings. We will be flexible, dynamic, and proactive. This is the only way we will be able to build the army of the future," Syrskyi emphasized.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Anatoliy Barhylevych, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, and unit commanders.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, in May, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the decree of the President of Ukraine on the creation of a separate type of troops within the Armed Forces – Unmanned Systems Forces.
