Pentagon has ordered USD 4.5 billion worth of products from manufacturer of Patriot systems

The Pentagon has signed a USD 4.5 billion multi-year contract with Lockheed Martin for the production of Patriot air defense systems.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Reuters.

The contract covers 870 missiles, interceptor missiles and related equipment.

It is noted that Lockheed produces the latest version of Patriot missiles (PAC-3 MSE), which cost about USD 4 million per unit.

The Patriot is one of many modern air defense systems that the West provides to Ukraine to protect it from Russian attacks.

As Ukrinform reported, earlier Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on the air of the United News telethon that the United States and eight European countries would provide Ukraine with air defense systems and missiles for them.
