Energy Ministry: Ukrainian NPPs could resume operation in the evening
Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy expects that Ukrainian nuclear power plants will resume operation in the evening of November 24.
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy German Galushchenko said during a nationwide telethon on Ukrainian TV channels.
"We will increase the amount of generation during the day. We expect that our nuclear power plants will start working by the evening and, accordingly, will supply electricity to the network. This will significantly reduce the deficit," the minister said.
He added that on the night of November 24, Ukraine’s energy system was successfully unified and currently it operate as a single system.
According to Galushchenko, electricity supply has been resumed at critical infrastructure facilities across the country.
As reported by Ukrinform, due to a frequency decrease in the energy system of Ukraine, emergency protection was activated at the Rivne, South Ukraine and Khmelnytskyi NPPs, and all power units were automatically disconnected.
On November 23, Russians again attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Emergency power outages were introduced throughout Ukraine. Some regions remained without water supply.
