Ukraine, U.S. to deepen cooperation in energy sector

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, held a meeting with the U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm as part of the meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy and Climate Cooperation in Zagreb. The parties discussed the issue of further cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy.

That's according to the ministry's press service, Ukrinform reports.

German Galushchenko thanked his counterpart for the assistance to Ukraine’s energy sector, in particular for the gas turbine mobile power plant, which was recently provided to the Ukrainian side by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

"The installation of such gas turbines in different regions of Ukraine will help us decentralize generation and ensure an uninterrupted power supply to critical infrastructure and consumers," the Minister of Energy noted.
