The Negmar Cicek ship has delivered 30 thousand tons of wheat to the port of Salif in the Republic of Yemen as part of the humanitarian food program Grain from Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

As noted in the Presidential Office, this is the sixth grain shipment under the initiative Grain from Ukraine initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky to overcome the global food crisis, particularly in the countries most affected by hunger.

The shipment of Ukrainian grain to Yemen was supported by the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) and financial assistance from the United States, France, and Spain governments.

"Our humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine, which we implement together with partners, is already helping millions of people in the countries most affected by hunger and affirms Ukraine's global role as a guarantor of food security in the world," Zelensky emphasized.

He stressed that even in the face of a full-scale invasion by Russian invaders, Ukraine is helping the world to guarantee stability and security and is confronting the chaos and food crisis resulting from Russian aggression.

In particular, 30 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain will help about 1.7 million people in Yemen to feed their families for at least a month. Ukraine and its partners have taken similar steps under the Grain from Ukraine program to support African countries, including Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya.

According to the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, by implementing the Grain from Ukraine program, Ukraine seeks to fulfill its obligations to the international community regarding global food security.

"The world cannot be without Ukrainian grain," he emphasized.

The representatives of Ukraine and Yemen agreed on further joint efforts to ensure food security in the region. Among other things, it was mentioned that Ukraine will continue to support the people from Yemen despite the war and Russia's attempts to block the export of Ukrainian food.
