Ukraine, Bulgaria set railway transport development as key priority

Ukraine and Bulgaria have set the railway transport development as a main priority to improve transport services between the two countries.

That issue was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador of Ukraine to Bulgaria Olesya Ilashchuk and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Aleksiev, Ukrinform reports, citing the embassy's press service.

According to the embassy, the interlocutors discussed the construction of a new third bridge across the Danube River, which will facilitate the movement of the growing flow of goods and people and help Ukraine in its recovery process.

"Hristo Aleksiev emphasized Bulgaria's efforts to ensure solidarity corridors to guarantee food security. The parties expressed their readiness to work together to improve transport services between Ukraine and Bulgaria and identified the development of railway transport as a key priority," the diplomatic mission informed.

As reported, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Bulgaria Olesya Ilashchuk presented credentials to President Rumen Radev on April 7.
