Ukrenergo introduces emergency power outages in Kyiv and 12 regions
On the evening of June 6, emergency power outages were introduced in 12 regions and the city of Kyiv as consumption limits were exceeded.
According to Ukrinform, the national power grid operator Ukrenergo announced this on Facebook.
"As consumption limits were exceeded, Ukrenergo is forced to apply emergency power outages for household and industrial consumers in the following regions starting from 20:40: Volyn, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Rivne, Kharkiv regions and the city of Kyiv," the statement said.
The company noted that there might be interruptions in power supply to critical infrastructure facilities.
Emergency power outages will be canceled after the regions reach their consumption limits. Hourly power outage schedules will continue to be in effect.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, according to Ukrenergo, on Friday, June 7, a deficit in the power system is expected throughout the day.
