Flood control measures continue in Ukraine with water level in main rivers stabilizing
As of April 19, Ukrhydroenergo HPP operator has recorded a decline in flood levels, but hydroelectric power plants and pumped storage plants continue to make controlled water discharges on the Dnipro and Dniester rivers.
This was reported by Ukrhydroenergo on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.
"As of April 19, the situation of the flood has stabilized. The water level is now decreasing. HPPs and PSPPs continue to make controlled discharges on the Dnipro and Dniester in compliance with safety standards to stabilize water levels," the statement said.
It is noted that this year's spring water has risen by 0.5-1 meter compared to previous years.
As reported, due to heavy rainfall and a significant groundwater rise, water levels in the Dnipro, Desna, Seim, Prypiat, Horyn, and Western Buh rivers in Volyn, Kyiv, Rivne, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions have also risen rapidly.
