Spring floods: the number of flooded yards in Ukraine drops to 852
According to the State Emergency Service (SES), as reported by Ukrinform.
The report stated that "We see the rate of water level rise decreasing in rivers in the north of the country. A total of 852 households remain flooded (in Chernihiv region - 474, Cherkasy - 182, Dnipro - 79, Poltava - 107, and Kyiv - 10) and 111 houses (Dnipro - 38, Cherkasy - 42, Chernihiv - 29 and Poltava - 2), including 38 summer cottages."
Additionally, 10,762 hectares of agricultural land are flooded in the Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn, Rivne, Cherkasy, and Poltava regions. Transportation links to 30 settlements have been disrupted: 29 in Chernihiv region and one in Kyiv region.
Water levels in the Dnipro, Desna, Seim, Sozh, and Vit rivers continue to rise in the Chernihiv region. The water level in the Dnipro has risen by +1 cm per day, while the Desna has increased by +5 cm per day.
The SES units have pumped out 1,493 cubic meters of water during the day and 12,139 cubic meters have been pumped out since the beginning of the work. The hydrological situation is under enhanced control of the State Emergency Service.
As reported earlier, on Sunday, April 16, 916 households (gardens, yards) and 225 houses, including 187 summer cottages, were flooded in Ukraine as of 9:00 a.m.
