Kuleba thanks Hoekstra for supporting visa restrictions for Russians
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba at a meeting with his Dutch counterpart Wopke Hoekstra thanked him for his principled position on the need to limit Russians' trips to the EU.
Kuleba said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"I thanked my Dutch colleague Wopke Hoekstra for the principled stance on the need to restrict travel of Russians to the EU. We also discussed our further joint efforts to deliver more weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, as well as to hold Russia accountable," Kuleba wrote.
The foreign ministers of the EU countries are holding an informal meeting in Prague on August 31 to discuss restrictions on tourist visas for Russian citizens, as well as the eighth package of EU sanctions against Russia.
Ahead of the informal meeting, Germany and France said they did not support the visa ban for Russia.
The Netherlands will support proposals to ban Russian tourists from entering the European Union.
Ukraine calls for the EU countries to introduce a complete ban on issuing tourist visas for Russian citizens, in particular because Russians' trips to Europe for ten years have not had any positive impact on Russian society.
