Ukraine’s First Lady meets with European Parliament President
During her visit to Strasbourg, Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska met with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola and told her about Ukraine's needs in education, medicine, and the protection of Ukrainians.
"‘We stand with you both in good times and in difficult times. We will never leave you,’ European Parliament President Roberta Metsola said when she was one of the first foreign high-ranking officials to visit Ukraine in April. It was at the time of the liberation of Kyiv region, terrible discoveries in Bucha and Irpin where the occupiers left behind hundreds of tortured people," Olena Zelenska posted on Telegram.
Today, during her visit to Strasbourg, the First Lady met with Metsola and informed her about the restoration of Ukraine, the liberation of its territories, and the needs in terms of education, medicine, and protection of Ukrainians.
Zelenska expressed her gratitude to the European Parliament for prompt decision-making on Ukraine, close cooperation with the Verkhovna Rada, and all the recommendations.
"I think this visit will also be symbolic: if Ukraine's EU candidate status was only discussed in the spring, now we have such status and we are going to implement the recommendations necessary for further steps towards accession by the end of the year. I really want to leave the difficult times behind and see the good ones that our guest talked about coming as soon as possible," Zelenska concluded.
As reported, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska is on a working visit to Strasbourg.
