PM Shmyhal meets with German defense minister

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated he was convinced that Germany's assistance in supplying weapons to Ukraine would not diminish.

He wrote this on Telegram following a meeting with Germany’s Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht, Ukrinform reports.

"The entire German government and people stand behind these consolidated decisions. On behalf of our Government and all Ukrainians, I thanked for this," Shmyhal wrote.

According to the Prime Minister, German weapons, in particular, IRIS-T air defense system, proved extremely effective in protecting the Ukrainian sky and the lives of Ukrainians from Russian missiles.

“I voiced our proposals for improving resistance to Iranian drones and strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. We count on the support of our partners in this matter," the Prime Minister added.

As reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen the creation of a financial coordination platform to support Ukraine.
