President forms new military administration in northern Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on the formation of the Chernihiv city military administration in the Chernihiv region.

The decree has been published on the official website of the head of state, Ukrinform reports.

"In accordance with the Law of Ukraine 'On the Legal Regime of Martial Law,' the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Chernihiv Regional State Administration [should] take measures related to the formation of the military administration specified in Article 1 of this Decree," the decree of February 7, 2023 reads.

It is not yet clear who will head the Chernihiv city military administration.
