Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez paid an unannounced visit to Kyiv early on Thursday, February 23.

He said this on Twitter, according to Ukrinform.

"Today I am returning to Kyiv. We will stand with Ukraine and its people until peace returns to Europe," the tweet reads.

Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis met Sanchez at Kyiv's railway station.

The Spanish prime minister is expected to visit Bucha and Irpin and meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Sanchez will discuss further steps with the Ukrainian authorities regarding military and humanitarian support to Ukraine from Spain.

This is his second visit to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion began.
