FM Kuleba: Ukraine strongly determined to develop relations with Saudi Arabia at all levels
Ukraine is strongly determined to develop relations with Saudi Arabia not only at the bilateral and multilateral but also at the regional levels, as well as to jointly search for ways to strengthen the position of our state in the Global South.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said this at a joint briefing with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Ukraine’s top diplomat pointed out the importance of the first visit of Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister to Kyiv since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
"We welcome the minister with special hospitality and show our utmost commitment to the development of our relations. We will also jointly look for ways to strengthen our positions in the Global South, primarily in Africa, and will hold talks on this matter at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We see interaction with Saudi Arabia not only at the bilateral level, not only at the multilateral level in the context of the UN and other international organizations, but also at the regional level, and we will coordinate our efforts," Kuleba said.
As the minister noted, there are a lot of different tasks ahead but the main thing is that the contacts maintained by President Volodymyr Zelensky with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and Prince Faisal are yielding results for both countries.
In this context, Kuleba informed that two documents laying the foundations for the development of cooperation on the tracks of the Ministry of Reconstruction and the Ministry of Energy were signed today.
"That is, specific areas and specific directions are being shaped, in which new powerful projects will be built," the minister forecasted.
