Borrell discusses situation in Russia with G7 foreign ministers
EU High Representative Josep Borrell held consultations with the Group of Seven foreign ministers on the situation in Russia.
The relevant statement he made on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"Had a call with G7 Foreign Ministers to exchange views on the situation in Russia. Ahead of Monday’s EU Foreign Affairs Council, I am coordinating inside the European Union and have activated the crisis response centre. Our support to Ukraine continues unabated," Borrell wrote.
As reported, on June 23, the leader of the "Wagner" PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin announced a demarche against the Russian military leadership, in particular against Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, and established control over military facilities in the city of Rostov-on-Don.
President Putin addressed the nation and called these actions "an armed rebellion" and "treason."
Prigozhin announced his intention to march to Moscow to "put an end to this mess."
