Stefanchuk meets with NATO PA president
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk has met with President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Michał Szczerba
"An important meeting with President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Michał Szczerba. Of course, the main focus was on Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration," Stefanchuk posted on his Facebook page.
According to him, Ukraine's goal is to achieve maximum progress and receive an invitation to join NATO at the summit on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Alliance, and the support of the NATO PA is important in this regard.
"I’m counting on the leadership position of the Parliamentary Assembly in building consensus among allies regarding the invitation for Ukraine. An important signal would be the adoption by the NATO PA of a resolution calling on the governments of NATO member countries to invite Ukraine to join the Alliance," the speaker said.
The Verkhovna Rada chairman added that he also asked to the NATO PA president to call on the allied governments to make contributions (monetary and non-monetary) to the NATO Trust Fund as part of the Comprehensive Assistance Package.
As reported, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk discussed military support for Ukraine, Euro-Atlantic integration, the implementation of the Peace Formula and increased sanctions pressure on Russia with President of the Storting of Norway Masud Gharahkhani.
