Thailand to participate in Peace Summit in Switzerland

Thailand will participate in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland next week.

This is reported by Thai PBS, Ukrinform reports.

During Thai Prime Minister Shinawatra's recent visit to Paris, he told French President Emmanuel Macron that his country would take part in the summit.

According to a source, the country will be represented at the summit by Deputy Foreign Minister Russ Jalichandra.

Thailand has expressed support for all initiatives aimed at a speedy and peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine, the report said.

The country will join more than 100 countries in discussing ways to end the war waged by Russia against Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported, the Global Peace Summit will be held on 15-16 June in Switzerland. It is expected to be attended by heads of state and government from all continents. The participating countries will develop a common negotiating position and submit it to Russia. More than 100 countries and international organisations have confirmed their participation in the summit.

The Ukrainian Formula for Peace is a diplomatic mechanism offered by our country to achieve a just end to the war unleashed by Russia.
