UWC discusses further cooperation with Ukrenergo leadership in renewal of Ukraine's energy sector
A delegation of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) met with the leadership of NPC Ukrenergo on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin to discuss further cooperation in restoring the country's energy infrastructure and preparing for the coming winter.
According to Ukrinform, this is stated on the UWC website.
The UWC delegation included UWC President Paul Grod, Head of the Energize Ukraine platform Yarema Kovaliv, UWC Vice President for Operations Zenon Potoczny and Head of the UWC Mission to Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko. Ukrenergo was represented by Chairman of the Board Volodymyr Kudrytskyi and Director of Ukrenergo Digital Solutions Andrii Nemyrovskyi.
During the meeting, the parties focused on strategies to rebuild and strengthen Ukraine's energy system, which has been severely damaged by Russian missile and drone attacks.
The UWC recalled that this year the Energize Ukraine initiative provided Ukrenergo with special equipment worth USD 368,239 thanks to donations from donors in North America.
As reported by Ukrinform, at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 9 gigawatts (GW) of the country's power system capacity, as well as 80% of thermal generation and a third of hydro generation, had already been destroyed by Russian missiles and drones.
In January 2023, Ukrainian World Congress President Paul Grod and Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi signed a memorandum of cooperation within the framework of the UWC Energize Ukraine initiative aimed at assisting in the search, purchase and delivery of equipment to rebuild Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
