Swiss president on Peace Summit outcomes: Good result

More than 80 of the 90 states present at the Peace Summit signed or co-authored the joint communiqué, which is a good result.

Swiss President Viola Amherd said this at a news conference at the end of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

She stressed that the joint communiqué was signed by the “great majority” of participants, including countries that are not only Western or pro-Western, and countries on the African continent and Latin American countries, calling it “a good result”.

According to her, the countries that have not signed the document yet also emphasized that “this conference was important and that such platforms are needed."

Overall, she said she received positive feedback from all the participants for offering this platform for sharing experiences.

She emphasized that the conference was held at a high level and "received broad support" and the atmosphere was good.

As Ukrinform reported, the first Peace Summit took place in the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock on June 15-16.
