Ukraine opens honorary consulate in Liechtenstein

Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis paid a working visit to the Principality of Liechtenstein, during which he took part in the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Vaduz.

This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ukrinform reports.

"Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister congratulated Honorary Consul David Carl Yandrassits on joining the diplomatic team of Ukraine and called for active work to bring Ukraine's victory closer," the statement said.

The official ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Ms Dominique Hasler, as a guest of honour. She welcomed the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine and wished Ukraine a speedy victory.

"Ukraine and Liechtenstein share common values and views. The opening of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in the Principality is a historically significant event and a symbolic step towards strengthening cooperation between our countries," said Dominique Gasler.

During a separate meeting with the Foreign Minister, Yevgen Perebyinis thanked Liechtenstein for its support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called for further support of the Principality's initiatives in the fight against the aggressor. In addition, the parties discussed prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as well as cooperation within international organisations.

As Ukrinform reported, on 24 May, Ukraine opened an embassy in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
