Quarantine rules for trains: 340 passengers denied boarding for failing to present COVID certificates or test results
Since the entry into force of the new restrictions on passenger transportation, less than 0.5% of passengers were not allowed to travel by rail due to a lack of proper documents.
That’s according to Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, head of the passenger unit at JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrinform reports referring to the company's press service.
"Since October 21, more than 125,000 passengers have been transported by long-distance and Intercity+ trains, of whom only 340 have been denied boarding due to lack of vaccination certificates or negative test results. In general, the situation with transportation remains absolutely controlled. Passengers have received all information required and reacted with understanding to the new rules, in most cases strictly adhering to them,” the official said.
Ukrzaliznytsia recalls that from October 21, long-distance railway transportation services shall be offered to passengers provided that they hold a train ticket; an ID, a document confirming receipt of at least one dose of vaccine for COVID-19, or a document confirming full vaccination course (international, domestic or foreign COVID-19 vaccination certificate (either a paper certificate or the one generated in the Diia application), or a negative PCR or rapid antigen test valid for 72 hours (as of boarding time).
Passengers under the age of 18 are not required to hold the above documents, except for a travel document and an ID.
As Ukrinform reported, on October 11, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution, enforcing the rules for interregional passenger transportation starting October 21.
