Government approves 50 projects to build shelters in schools
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved 50 projects of shelters in schools to be built at the expense of subventions.
This was reported on Facebook by the Ministry of Education and Science, Ukrinform reports.
"The Ministry of Education and Science Commission reviewed applications through the DREAM platform - here are the results: 50 projects have been approved by the government; seven projects have been approved by the Ministry of Education and Science and are awaiting government funding; construction of eight shelters has begun in three regions," the statement said.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, five underground schools are being built in Zaporizhzhia. These shelters are full-fledged learning spaces. They will ensure the continuity of education even in the difficult conditions of the frontline region.
Communities applied through the DREAM system. After that, regional military administrations provided recommendations and project proposals for funding. The Ministry of Education and Science Commission, in accordance with the criteria set out in Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 417 of April 12, 2024, and the recommendations of the RMA, selected projects to receive funding.
As Ukrinform reported, in early June, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the distribution of subventions from the state to local budgets for the repair and construction of shelters in schools. The projects were selected by a commission of the Ministry of Education and Science.
