Rotan: Our players can play at level of top teams
The Ukrainian national football team lost to Argentina (0:2) in the decisive match of the group round of the 2024 Games football tournament and stopped competing in the competition.
According to the UAF, Ukrainian head coach Ruslan Rotan said after the match that the result was not fair, Ukrinform reports.
“Apparently, the result is not fair. The pattern of the result is that a particular episode is decided individually by the players. Argentina's individuality was present, so we have this score. As for the game itself, without exaggeration, we played better than Argentina and did not deserve to lose.
I am pleased with the guys, they are great, they can play at the level of the top teams. But to do this, you need to have such a passion in every match. When we play a match for seven hours in Ukraine, it shows.
We thank the players for their attitude. The fact that we are at this tournament is a great success for our country. And in the future, if the guys believe in their game so much, we will have victories at the Olympic Games. God willing, the war will end and there will be peace,” Rotan said.
