Zelensky: Kyiv Initiative a very promising line of work in Euro-Atlantic direction
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his video address, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
He said that a new diplomatic and security format, the Kyiv Initiative, had been founded. According to him, Ukraine's European neighbors - Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and the Baltic states - are already participating in the work of the format. Zelensky added that other states would gradually join in.
Zelensky said that in the Kyiv Initiative format, the work takes place at the level of foreign policy advisors to the heads of state. He added that from the Ukrainian side, the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, and his deputy, Andrii Sybiha, are dealing with this initiative.
"This format will allow us to strengthen cooperation in the region and joint protection of our interests, primarily security interests. This is a very promising line of our work in the Euro-Atlantic direction," Zelensky said.
On August 22, Ukraine launched a new format of cooperation with international partners called "Kyiv Initiative." It is considered a platform for discussing common security challenges for countries in Central and Eastern Europe in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
