As a result of the Russian attack, energy facilities in the north and center of Ukraine were damaged.

National Energy Company Ukrenergo says it does not rule out the introduction of rolling blackouts across the affected areas.

That’s according to the press service of the energy operator, Ukrinform reports.

"As a result of the terrorist attack, energy infrastructure facilities in the central and northern regions of Ukraine were damaged," the statement reads.

It is noted that repair crews are already working on the scenes of the strikes.

"Ukrenergo’s dispatch center does not rule out the possibility of introducing emergency shutdown schedules. Therefore, it is important to observe the regime of frugal electricity consumption throughout the country, especially in the evening hours," the company emphasized.

As reported, in the morning of October 17, the Russians attacked a number of objects across the territory of Ukraine, employing Iranian-made kamikaze drones, as well as cruise missiles. Kyiv was among today’s targets.
