Line of active hostilities in Ukraine is over 1,200 km long – Zelensky
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during an online meeting with members of the U.S. National Association of Governors, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The line of active hostilities in Ukraine now is more than 1,200 kilometers long. It’s like from Washington, D.C., to Chicago and back! The total frontline is even more than that,” Zelensky told.
In his words, millions of people live in the cities and villages, from which Ukraine’s Defense Forces have either already expelled the Russian flag or are preparing to do so.
According to the President of Ukraine, the Kremlin dreams of humiliating America and Europe, and the whole free world, as well as of splitting NATO and provoking a conflict that will force the American nation to choose whether to fight or not.
“It is Ukraine, that is your last frontier, your last reliable border. Thanks to our strength, in particular your people will not have to make this choice – a choice about your men and women – brave soldiers, whose lives would be laid on the Altar of protecting the most precious – freedom,” Zelensky stressed.
The Head of State noted that Ukraine is capable of preventing the expansion of the war and defeating Russia.
A reminder that, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Donetsk region’s Bakhmut and Marinka are remaining the epicenther of hostilities. Over the past day, the Ukrainian military have repelled about 20 attacks.
