Zelensky: Ukraine, Poland agree on important military package
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"It has been agreed on a new defense package, which is very important for our soldiers right now, [the package] that protects the freedom and independence not only of Ukraine, Poland, Europe, but also of the whole world. It is very important that those who are currently in the trenches in the east, where it is hot, in the south of Ukraine, know that here, in Warsaw, we have agreed on something that will give Ukraine and each and every one of our soldiers more strength," Zelensky said, calling the visit and negotiations in Poland "victorious."
The President emphasized that it is not only about support, but also about cooperation, including in the form of purchases, which, according to him, strengthens the defense potential of both Ukraine and Poland.
"Today we are signing a document on the supply of Polish Rosomak armored personnel carriers, Rak self-propelled mortars, air defense systems, in particular ‘very effective’ as the Prime Minister said, and it is true, as well as Pioruns, MiGs and other necessary weapons," the President said.
Zelensky also said that he discussed with Poland’s representatives the creation of joint enterprises for the production of weapons and ammunition.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife are on an official visit to Poland on April 5.
