Russians clearing area around Azovstal to erect fortifications
Petro Andriushchenko, the adviser to the Mariupol mayor in exile, reported the news on Telegram, posting the relevant video, seen by Ukrinform.
"Azovstal’s central checkpoints near the Post Bridge. The occupiers have started clearing the area and building fortifications. It is through these checkpoints that it’s most convenient to get to the helipad," Andriushchenko wrote.
He added that due to ongoing work, all traffic through the Post Bridge (an object that connects two Mariupol districts – Central and Left Bank - ed.) and the Left Bank Embankment has been stopped for three days.
As reported earlier, Russian invaders have been turning Mariupol and the surrounding settlements into a military and logistics hub for the Russian army. Russian troops launched a helipad on the territory of the Azovstal Metallurgical Combine.
