Over 20 combat engagements recorded in Ukraine’s east in past day

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its evening update on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"The main efforts, according to the General Staff, the enemy continues to focus on the Liman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Mariinka directions. Heavy fighting continues in the above-mentioned areas of the frontline, 22 combat engagements took place there over the last day," the statement said.

In total, Russian troops carried out 37 air strikes and 19 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems during the day.

The General Staff emphasizes that the probability of Russia's missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

Ukrainian aviation carried out nine strikes on the areas of concentration of the invaders' personnel in total over the day. The missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for their part, hit two enemy command posts, two ammunition depots and one artillery unit at a firing position.

The Defense Forces also destroyed another Russian anti-aircraft missile system.

The operational situation in Volyn and Polissia has not changed significantly. There were no signs of offensive groups forming. Combat training and coordination activities of the Russian Armed Forces units continue at the Belarusian training grounds before they are sent to the areas of combat operations in Ukraine.

In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, Russia maintains a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. The enemy conducted an air strike on Yanzhulivka in Chernihiv region.

Yanzhulivka, Kostobobriv and Hremiach in Chernihiv region, Chuykivka, Bachivsk, Svarkove, Atynske, Starykove, Boyar-Lezhachi, Stari Vyrky, Sosnivka, Iskristovshchyna, Volfyno, Basivka, Myropillia, Stepok, Krasnopillia, Novodmytrivka, Velyka Pysarivka and Ponomarenky in Sumy region were subjected to mortar and artillery fire from Russians.

The towns of Huriv Kozachok, Udy, Chervona Zoria, Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Pletenivka, Vovchanski Khutory, Pokaliane, Okhrimivka, Kruhle, Budarky, Zemlianky, Loshakove, Potykhonove and Komisarove in Kharkiv region also came under enemy mortar and artillery fire.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops conducted offensive actions in the direction of Berestove in Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in Luhansk region, but were unsuccessful. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at Figolivka, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Kamianka and Kyslivka in Kharkiv region, as well as Novoselivske.

On the Liman direction, the Russian army conducted offensive actions in the direction of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, but was unsuccessful. The enemy launched artillery strikes on Stelmakhivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, Torske, Verkhnekamianske, Rozdolivka, Spirne and Serebryanka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian artillery struck the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Chasov Yar, Ivanivske, Ozaryanivka, Bila Hora, Kostiantynivka and Pivdenne in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russians conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Stepove and Avdiivka. In the Avdiivka and Sukha Balka areas, the enemy attacked from the air, firing artillery at Stepove, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, Avdiivka, Vesele and Karlivka in Donetsk region.

In the Mariinka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled all the attacks in the vicinity of Mariinka. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, Maksymilianivka and Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region came under artillery fire from the Russians. The enemy also attacked Krasnohorivka from the air.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops conducted offensive actions in the directions of Novomykhailivka and Vodyane in Donetsk region, but were unsuccessful.

The invaders launched air strikes in the areas of Zolota Niva and Blahodatne, fired at Shakhtarske, Prechystivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Storozheve, Novosilka and Novopil in Donetsk region.

The Russian army continues to conduct defensive actions in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. In the areas of Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia region and Kozatske in Kherson region, the enemy attacked from the air.

Russian artillery strikes hit Olhivske, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Novodarivka, Levadne, Malynivka, Chervone, Novoandriivka, Stepove, Lobkove, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region.

Mykhailivka, Novodmytrivka, Chervnoyi Maiak, Shliakhove, Beryslav, Vesele, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Burhunka, Olhivka, Tiahynka, Novotiahynka, Poniativka, Sadove, Molodizhne, Antonivka, Kherson, Chornobaivka, Romashkove, Dniprovske, Berehove, Veletenske, Kizomys, Sofiivka in Kherson region and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv region also came under artillery fire from the Russian army.

As Ukrinform reported, the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping, General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were making progress in the Tavria direction.
