Some 1,500 people remain in Avdiivka
That's according to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's press service, Ukrinform reports.
"Since the first days of the full-scale war, Avdiiivka has become one of the hottest spots on the map of Ukraine. The occupiers tried to capture the settlement, using all types of weapons against the civilian population. Currently, 1,500 citizens remain in Avdiivka," the ministry said.
It added that recently the police officers from the White Angel evacuation crews had come under an air strike.
"The crew arrived to retrieve a person who killed by shelling from under the rubble. At that time, an air bomb hit a nine-story building located nearby. Fortunately, the law enforcement officers were not hurt," the report reads.
On June 12, the National Police said that about 200 people stayed in Bohoiavlenka, Donetsk region.
