Russia cynically ignores the very fact of the existence of the UN and its humanitarian mission, so it is unclear why it is part of this organization.

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, said this, Ukrinform reports citing the ministry's website.

"The Russians deliberately blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, causing a large-scale man-made disaster. They are not opening humanitarian corridors. They do not allow international humanitarian organizations to help the victims. This is a total disregard for international law. This is a cynical disregard for the very existence of the UN and its humanitarian mission," emphasized Vereshchuk.

According to her, this raises the question of why Russia is a member of the UN at all, or why this organization exists, which includes a country that ignores international law and the UN itself. "It is already absolutely clear that after our victory, international humanitarian law and the role of international humanitarian organizations will be subject to a significant revision," the head of the Ministry of Reintegration summarized.

As reported, at night on June 6, Russian troops blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. As a result of the explosion of the engine room from the inside, the station was completely destroyed.

The losses incurred by Ukraine as a result of the occupiers' explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant amount to about $1.5 billion, but this is not the final amount.
