Zelensky: There are all grounds for political invitation of Ukraine to NATO in Vilnius

He wrote about this on Telegram, noting that representatives of the Ukrainian authorities are working to ensure that the decisions of the summit become really meaningful, Ukrinform reports.

"NATO. Vilnius. Ukraine. There is every reason for a political invitation to Ukraine to join the Alliance. There is a full understanding of security guarantees for Ukraine for the time until the moment of accession. We are working with the team to make the decisions of the summit in Vilnius really meaningful," the President noted.

As reported, a NATO summit will be held in Vilnius on July 11-12.

At all levels, the Ukrainian side has emphasized that the assurances that "Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance" that were given during the Bucharest NATO Summit in 2008 are not enough.

Instead, Ukraine is asking allies to provide security guarantees and a clear perspective on moving toward full membership in the Alliance.
