Ukrainian air defense destroys eight attack drones, 18 cruise missiles overnight - Zaluzhnyi
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, overnight into January 8, the Russians launched a massive aerial attack on Ukraine, using cruise, ballistic, air and guided missiles and attack UAVs.
In total, the enemy used 59 missiles and drones, including eight Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs launched from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area (Russia), seven S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles launched from the Belgorod region, four Kh-47M2 Kinzhal ballistic missiles launched by four MiG-31K aircraft from the Ryazan and Tambov area, 24 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles launched by 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers from Engels, eight Kh-22 cruise missiles launched by Tu-22M3 bombers from the Belgorod region, six Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from the area of Dzhankoi and Cape Chauda, temporarily occupied Crimea), and two Kh-31P guided air missiles launched by tactical aircraft from the Belgorod region.
Critical, civilian infrastructure, industrial and military facilities came under attack.
Zaluzhnyi said that this time the enemy attacked different regions of Ukraine. In particular, the Russians directed ballistic missiles at the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi regions.
